Nursing programs granted candidacy status for initial accreditation by ACEN

Effective Feb. 4, 2026, the Northeast Texas Community College RN and VN Nursing Programs have been granted candidacy status for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The candidacy is valid through Spring 2028. This marks the first time in NTCC history that the college’s nursing programs have achieved candidate status.

Dr. Melissa Fulgham profiled by East Texas Historical Society

We’re excited to share that our very own Dr. Melissa Fulgham, Professor of History and Division Chair for Humanities & Social Sciences, has been featured in the East Texas Historical Society’s Pine Cone Profiles! The profile highlights Dr. Fulgham’s return to her East Texas roots, her research on the Progressive Era and women’s history, her co-authorship of books on historic Mount Pleasant, and her active role in the local history community.

Cindy Fuqua pottery exhibit on display through February

The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will open its first exhibit of the Spring 2026 semester with a pottery exhibition by artist Cindy Fuqua. The exhibit will be on display Friday, Feb. 6, through Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Whatley Center Foyer.

An artist reception will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 12:30–1:20 p.m. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
