Jerilyn Goolsby is in her sixteenth year with Mount Pleasant ISD and has served as a counselor at Mount Pleasant High School for the past nine years. She grew up in Talco, Texas, and graduated from Rivercrest High School in 1991. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Texas State University and later completed her Master of Education in School Counseling from Texas A&M–Commerce.

The Psi Beta chapter at Northeast Texas Community College has postponed its upcoming 5K Run/Walk/Crawl for Suicide Prevention Awareness due to the threat of severe weather this weekend. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 11.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation announced today that José Fuentes of Northeast Texas Community College is among the semifinalists for its highly competitive Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. The Foundation named 485 semifinalists for the scholarship, which supports the nation’s top community college students with financial need seeking to complete a bachelor’s degree at four-year colleges or universities.

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed March 16-20 for spring break. Online registration continues in the myEagle Portal for 2nd 8-week classes, which are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 23rd. We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing break!

The Northeast Texas Community College Police Department welcomed its newest officer during a swearing-in ceremony held on campus today.

Chief Russell Radke administered the oath of office to Officer Chris Weisinger, who joined the department in February. Following the oath, Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC President, presented Weisinger with his Certificate of Appointment, and Sergeant Daniel Madden pinned on his badge.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has approved several new certificate and degree programs designed to strengthen workforce pathways and provide students with credentials aligned to labor market needs.

The Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture Department recently received a new livestock trailer for use on the college’s demonstration farm and ranch. The trailer was made possible through a generous anonymous donation to the NTCC Foundation and will be used to support the college’s agriculture programs and provide students with hands-on learning opportunities.

Northeast Texas Community College announced today that Stephanie Hernandez has been selected as member of the prestigious 2026 All-USA Academic Team. Selected from more than 2,300 nominees, Stephanie will receive a $3,000 scholarship.
