Easter Bash planned for April 2

Northeast Texas Community College will host its annual Easter Bash on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the NTCC Athletics Complex, offering a fun-filled afternoon for students, employees, and the community.

The event will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. and feature a large-scale Easter egg hunt with 1,000 colorful eggs filled with candy and surprises scattered across the field. Attendees are encouraged to bring baskets and arrive early to be ready for the start of the hunt.

Alpha Mu Chi sets a new chapter record winning 38 awards at the PTK Texas Regional Convention

Alpha Mu Chi, Northeast Texas Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa set a new chapter record at the recent Texas Regional Convention held in Fort Worth, coming away with 38 awards.  

The chapter was especially delighted to see Dr. Kevin Rose inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor for College Presidents and Dr. Anna Ingram inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor for Outstanding Administrators.

Dr. McAllister continues fish parasite study with independent research students

Dr. Chris McAllister and four NTCC Independent Research Students, Xenia Esparza, Estefani Garcia, Jośe Fuentes, and Cecilia Phan traveled over Spring Break (Mar. 13-17, 2026) to Black Rock, Arkansas, to conduct research on fish parasites.

Alumni Spotlight: Audrey Ordoñez

Audrey Ordoñez, a first-generation college student, graduated from Northeast Texas Community College in 2025 with an associate's degree in biology. She is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology at The University of Texas at Dallas and plans to continue there for a master's in molecular and cell biology. Her goal is to conduct hands-on research in a hospital or laboratory. 

Nursing student recognized by TRMC

We are proud to share that Level 4 nursing student Myriam Zambrano was recently recognized by Titus Regional Medical Center for her quick thinking and decisive actions in caring for a patient in distress during her clinical rotation. Her ability to stay calm, recognize a concern, and act swiftly reflects the skills and dedication we hope to see in all of our future nurses.

PTA program plans Herschel's fundraiser night on March 20th

The Physical Therapist Assistant program at Northeast Texas Community College will host a restaurant fundraiser at Herschel’s in Mount Pleasant on Friday, March 20.

Community members are invited to dine at Herschel’s between 5 and 9 p.m. and mention NTCC when placing their order. Twenty percent of each ticket during that time will be donated to support the NTCC Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students. Dine-in, to-go and drive through orders are all included.

NTCC well represented at annual TCCTA Convention

Several Northeast Texas Community College faculty attended the 79th Annual TCCTA Convention in Frisco, Texas, joining community college educators, staff, and leaders from across the state. Attendees included Dr. Melissa Fulgham, Matt Homer, Mandy Smith, Dr. Jackie Johnston, Cassidy Jacobs-Stiger and Dr. Doug Richey, who participated in three days of professional learning, collaboration, and statewide engagement focused on shaping the future of Texas community colleges.
