Education Summit planned for Feb. 7

Northeast Texas Community College will host its second Education Summit on Thursday, February 7 from 7-10 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The general public is invited to attend. The Education Summit is the kick-off event for the NTCC strategic planning process that will take place over the coming months. What do you imagine NTCC could look like in 2020? Join us at the Education Summit to get in on the conversation!

The first 50 attendees will receive a gift bag! No RSVP is required.

Harmony High School financial aid night scheduled

Harmony High School parents and students are encouraged to attend a workshop to receive information on applying for federal financial aid and loans.† The presentation will be held Wednesday, February 27†at 6 p.m. in the Harmony High School library.† Anyone needing hands-on help completing financial aid applications are encouraged to bring their completed 2012 income tax return.† For more information, please contact Lynn Elms, High School Counselor at 903-725-5495 or Jennifer Myers, Northeast Texas Community College Coordinator of Dual Credit at 903-434-8257.

NTCC closed Jan. 21

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed on Monday, January 21 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. NTCC will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, January 22. It is that time of year when the weather can be unpredictable in this area. As we have already seen in December, severe winter weather can sneak up on us. Northeast Texas Community College wants to make sure that all students and employees have access to timely, accurate information regarding possible weather-related closures.

Free GED/ESL courses offered

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area. All students must in enroll in an orientation session before beginning classes. See schedule/contact information below:

NTCC open Saturday, Jan. 12 for registration



Northeast Texas Community College will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 12 to assist students with registration for the Spring 2013 semester. Students will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, access computers to register online, make payments and receive help with financial aid.




The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.
