NTCC Auto Body receives gift for ambulance restoration

The Flight of the Phoenix Aviation Museum in Gilmer recently donated $1,000 to benefit the Auto Body portion of the Carroll Shelby Automotive Technology program at Northeast Texas Community College. Adult Education conducts training at ITTC

The Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education department recently hosted a three-hour training session for 22 adult education teachers. The seminar was entitled Goal-Driven Instruction for Adult Learners and was held at the newly established Industrial Technology Training Center (ITTC) located in Mt. Pleasant. Through numerous training activities, teachers were taught how to create and implement a Student Learning Plan (SLP) for all students and how to differentiate between personal and National Reporting System (NRS) goals.

SIFE to host 5K Reindeer Run/Walk

The Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization at Northeast Texas Community College will host a 5K Reindeer Run/Walk event on Saturday, Dec. 10. The run will be held on the NTCC campus and begins at 8 a.m.

Registration will be held in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the NTCC campus from 7:00-7:30 a.m. The cost to participate is $25 for all ages, and includes a t-shirt and a pancake breakfast after the run.

Theatre Northeast presents children's play

Theatre Northeast, the student theatre group at Northeast Texas Community College, will present the classic children's Christmas comedy†The Best Christmas Pageant Ever December 3 and 4 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.

An evening performance will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a 2:05 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Dec. 4.†Ticket prices are $5 for Adults, $3 for ages 17 and under, Sr. Citizens, NTCC Faculty and free for NTCC students with current ID.

Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination RequirementDuring the last Texas legislative session, Texas Senate Bill 1107 (SB 1107) was passed and signed into law by Texas State Governor Rick Perry. Effective January 1, 2012, SB 1107 requires all students (under age 30) entering an institution of higher education (public and private) to either receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis or meet certain criteria for declining such a vaccination before the first day of the semester.
