You probably have heard the story of how Texas’ Alamo defenders died amidst the onrush of Santa Anna’s army in 1836. But have you heard the story of how the Alamo replaced the San Jacinto battlefield as the focus of Texas patriotism?
The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will host an exhibit featuring paintings by Gary Perrone Friday, Feb. 7 through Wednesday, Feb. 26. A reception with the artist is will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer gallery. Refreshments will be served.
Every year the NTCC Faculty Senate awards one or more scholarships to students who reside in Texas, have at least 15 semester hours, and are NOT receiving scholarship assistance above $500.00. The awards are funded by donation and payroll deductions from current and previous NTCC faculty members for students to finish their education at NTCC.
The NTCC Art Club would like to invite students who have an interest in art to consider joining. Club meetings are held on Tuesdays from 12:30-1:20 p.m. in the art lab in Humanities 126. Students from all majors are welcome to attend!
