The first week of classes can be a stressful time in the life of a college student. To help alleviate this stress, and to encourage students to meet new people, we have planned a Welcome Back Social for students, faculty and staff. The Northeast Texas Community College Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program recently learned that all 13 of its December 2018 graduating class passed their professional licensure exam on the first try. Upon graduating with their Associate of Applied Science degree in PTA, graduates are required to sit for the NPTE Board Exam before starting their professional careers.

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received $91,000 from the U.S. Department of Education to match contributions to the NTCC endowment in 2018. These funds are part of the Title V grant, which has money allotted for matching gifts over a five-year period. It’s time for a flashback to the 1960s as Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone comes to the stage of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. The concert will be Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.whatleycenter.com.  

Richard Perryman recently gave $7,000 to support the Work Scholarship Program at Northeast Texas Community College. Perryman (right) is pictured presenting the gift to Nita May, NTCC Director of Development. The Work Scholarship Program allows select students the opportunity to work on campus during the summer to earn money to pay for their college education in advance. The program is privately-funded by generous donors, like Perryman.
