NTCC receives $12,000 from US Tennis Association

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $12,000 donation from the United States Tennis Association. Dr. Ron Clinton (left), NTCC President, Jimmy Smith, Coordinator of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the check. The gift will be used to upgrade NTCC’s tennis courts and provide scholarships for local youth to participate in the 2023 Kids Discovery College.

Foundation receives gift to support computer science programs

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $42,039.06 donation from the estate of Earl Christian Williamson. Nita May (left), Director of Development, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the check. Williamson was a computer science faculty member at NTCC from 1988 to 1998.

Baseball & Softball players ringing bells for Salvation Army today

Be on the lookout for members of the NTCC Eagles Baseball and Softball teams if you happen to be out shopping in Mount Pleasant today (Friday, Dec. 2nd). Players will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army from 9 a.m. until the evening at Wal Mart, Super One and Mount Pleasant Brookshire's. We are proud of our student athletes for their commitment to serving the community!

Wilhite presents at AMATYC conference in Toronto

Last week Dr. Paula Wilhite, Northeast Texas Community College Professor of Mathematics/Division Chair for Math, Physics and Engineering, presented “The Beauty of Mathematics in Beethoven’s Compositions” at the annual conference of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) in Toronto, Canada. Included in her presentation was the beauty of the patterns of mathematics in Ludwig Beethoven’s classical and romantic styles of musical works that may explain how his creativity appeared unaffected by his tragic deafness.
