On Friday, June 17th, NTCC’s Continuing Education Department held a Senior Adult Legal Workshop on campus with Wyatt Hinson, Attorney at Law as the Guest Speaker.  Topics discussed were estate planning, medical decisions, wills, durable power of attorney, medical power of attorney, living will, declaration of guardian, Lady Bird deed, and complications of probate.

The NTCC Adult Education Department will be offering Fast Track GED classes this summer both in-person and virtually (see attached flyer for class details). If you know anyone who might be interested in this service, please have them contact us @ 903.434.8341 to make an appointment to register. Registration begins today, June 20-July 1, 2022 and classes will run July 5- August 4. We ask that you please print and post flyer at your location and/or forward this e-mail to share with others who might be in need of this free service. Eagle Ganza

There is still time for incoming NTCC students to attend an EagleGanza freshman experience event! The next event is on Thursday, July 28th. EagleGanza will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. starting at the Eagle baseball field. Click here for more information and to sign up.

Beckman winners

For their performance in challenging honors courses at NTCC in relation to their peers, two Presidential Scholars will win $100 checks.  Hope Kelly, an art and costume-design major, recently promoted to Presidential Scholar, won her award as an honors freshman, ranking number one in the Stat-Psych Honors Seminar taught this past spring by Dr. Karyn Skaar and Dr. Paula Wilhite.  NTCC’s Dr. Jerry Wesson Scholar, Aaliyah Avellaneda, who finished this past May, was the sophomore who took all twenty-one hours of requisite honors courses, and ended with the highest GPA.

The NTCC Career and Transfer Team will host a FAFSA Day event on Tuesday, June 21. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in BT 111. Staff will be available to assist students with completing their FAFSA application, so please bring parent(s) and student 2020 W2s and tax returns. Northeast Texas Community College is currently enrolling for its upcoming Professional Driving Academy (CDL training). The class meets June 27th through July 25th from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the NTCC campus. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in training for a lucrative new career in just one month.

There is still time to sign up for NTCC's 2022 Kids Discovery College, but don't wait! The last day to register is June 24th and the last day to add or drop a class is June 28th. While some classes have already filled, there are still plenty of fun learning opportunities available.

NTCC’s Pride Flock student organization hosted a Pride Celebration on June 9th in the Humanities building. The event included Pride crafts, water balloons and a featured showing of the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The mission of Pride Flock is to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ students and allies, and to promote awareness and education of LGBTQ+ history and current issues.
