Northeast Texas Community College and Navarro College met up on the diamond at NTCC on Saturday after rains early in the week forced some changes to the schedule. NTCC would defeat Navarro 9-5 before falling 17-5 in game two.

The Thirteenth Annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest is set for Friday, May 7th at 9:30 a.m. in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College. This contest recognizes and rewards creative student scholarship in Northeast Texas. Area high school seniors, college and university students are welcome to compete. Prizes range from $100 for fourth place to $400 for first place. The first place winner will also receive a $175 coupon for McGraw Hill products, courtesy of McGraw Hill. Community judges will determine a project’s contribution to scholarship, the persuasiveness of its author, and the quality of the overall presentation. The student posters must reflect original research performed in this past academic year of 2020-21.
PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s international convention, was open as a virtual streaming event this year on April 8-10, including six general sessions, educational forums, and virtual booth explorations for career and college transfers. Aside from amazing keynote speakers, such as those featured this year including, Platon, a world-recognized photographer, and Heather McGowan, Future of Work Strategist, chapters look forward to the Hallmark Awards, which recognize chapters, advisors, college leaders, and members throughout Phi Theta Kappa’s 1,285 chapters.
This is NTCC’s 7th year to participate in East Texas Giving Day, a regional online giving/fundraising event. Our students and programs benefit greatly from donations made during this time because wonderful matching grant opportunities really stretch the power of every dollar given.
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host a concert by The East Texas Men In Harmony (ETMIH) on Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited due to social distancing protocols.
The NTCC Agriculture and Continuing Education departments are pleased to offer a Summertime On The Farm camp for kids ages 8-14. Campers will be learning how to care for chickens, goats, pigs, ducks, and more. Gardening, planting, and caring for flower beds will also be covered. Join us this summer as we learn how to "do life" on a real working farm!
Northeast Texas Community College, in partnership with the Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (MPEDC), will host a Career and Training Expo on Friday, April 23. The event will be held at NTCC’s Industrial Technology Training Center (ITTC) in Mount Pleasant (westbound I-30 frontage road east of Lowes) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
Northeast Texas Community College started the second round of conference on Saturday, April 3 with a two-game series with Paris Junior College. After PJC defeated the Eagles in game one 19-1, NTCC bounced back for a 15-7 win in game two.
