Dr. Chris McAllister, NTCC Biology, and Biol. 2389 students, Xenia Esparza, Estefani Garcia, Cecilia Phan, and José Fuentes traveled to the Ouachita Mountains Biological Station in Big Fork, Arkansas, Feb. 13-15, 2026 and conducted research on vertebrate parasites.
This was a big week for news from NTCC STEM alumni. We have learned that two NTCC alumni – Audrey Ordoñez and Matthew Chambers – are advancing their careers in medicine.
Northeast Texas Community College will offer its Teen Driver’s Education program beginning March 23, providing students with a comprehensive and accessible driver training option close to home.
Dr. Kevin Rose, President of Northeast Texas Community College, has been named a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Paragon President Honoree. Dr. Rose will be recognized during PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s annual international convention.

The Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute will host an Open House and Dyno Day on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northeast Texas Community College.
NTCC representatives recently attended the Chapel Hill High School College and Career Fair held Feb. 6 at the Region 8 Education Service Center. The event welcomed approximately 400 high school juniors from at least nine Northeast Texas schools, providing students an opportunity to explore college programs and career pathways.
