NTCC is conducting half-day safety courses for employees throughout the spring 2019 semester.
The Bleeding Control portion consists of lecture and hands-on training in stopping life-threatening bleeding. Topic two involves citizens response to an active crisis. Lecture and videos were used to train the layperson on how to respond to an incident. Topic three was Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). CPR and AED use for infant, child and adult with response to choking.
Hands-on training with medium fidelity mannequins were used to simulate real-life events.
According to instructor, Russell VanBibber, there was a lot of positive feedback from the participants: "Thank you for allowing training to be conducted on this campus. This is just one more way NTCC is being proactive in the safety of our community."
All NTCC employees are encouraged to attend this potentially life-saving training.
