King and Blum families give NTCC Work4College scholarship

Frankie and Henrietta King and Dr. Ronald and Carolyn Blum recently gave $1,000 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation in memory of Buck and Nella Mae King. The Kings are pictured presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough (right), NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement.

The donation will provide a scholarship for a student in NTCC's Work4College Program. Thanks to another grant opportunity, the gift will be matched for a total impact of $2,000. Work4College applications for Summer 2020 are due April 15. The funeral service program at NTCC was a great program that helped me become confident in the field. I learned great skills that will benefit me from being a funeral director to an embalmer. This program worked for me, being able to do it online remotely. I was able to work full-time; and gain knowledge from being able to work hands on doing an apprenticeship. The courses here at NTCC were beneficial and important to help us be successful as we go and serve the families in the areas where we reside. My experience here was amazing, the Funeral Service Professors were amazing and willing to help in any way to help us become successful. — Kelby Dayley
