Our department offers career advancement opportunities with our Professional Truck Driving Academy, Fire Academy, Police Academy, Real Estate program, as well as Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), and Dental Assistant. We also offer online opportunities, through Ed2Go, which can provide you improvement in skill sets for your current job.

 


Continuing Education Advanced Career Training - Professional Driving CDL

Professional Driving Academy
The Professional Driving Academy is a four week program that gets you on the road to a better career in a short amount of time. New classes start the first Monday after the previous class ends and consist of 40 hours of classroom, and 120 hours of driving.

 


Continuing Education Advanced Career Training - Fire Academy

Fire Fighter Academy
The Northeast Texas Community College Fire Academy prepare trainees for a career as a firefighter. The academy is an authorized training facility for structural firefighting under Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP - FDID #107). Trainees who successfully complete the academy will be eligible for the certification exam given by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.

 

Certified Nurses Aide (CNA)
The Certified Nurse Aide program at Northeast Texas Community College is an 8-week course series designed to prepare students for certification as entry level nursing assistants providing a level of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities. The course consists of both didactic and clinical experience at a local Nursing facility. Certified Nurse Aides handle the day-to-day care of a patient in a hospital, assisted-living and long-term care facilities.

 

Phlebotomy Technician
The Phlebotomy Technician program at Northeast Texas Community College is a 13-week course series designed to prepare students to perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain a blood sample for laboratory testing. Phlebotomists typically work in hospitals, commercial laboratories, physician's offices, blood banks, pharmaceutical firms, home health agencies, research institutions, hospices, public health clinics, prisons, and visit patient's homes.

 

Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician program at Northeast Texas Community College consists of 288 contact hours of lecture, lab and internship training for students to become Community Pharmacy Technicians in a retail pharmacy environment. Instruction emphasizes the practical application of pharmacy mathematics, pharmaceutical terminology, drug packaging and labeling, dosage preparation, inventory systems and management, and customer service.

The goal is to provide you with the tools, training, and support necessary to get you on your way to a successful and rewarding career as a Professional Expanded Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and a respected team member in the dental industry.

Real Estate
We have teamed up with The CE Shop to provide our students the courses required for obtaining and retaining their real estate license. Together we are able to offer state-specific courses and engaging electives that follow current trends and issues in the industry.

Veterinary Assistant
The Veterinary Assistant program prepares students for a new career in the field of veterinary medicine. Participants will learn about the care of animals as well as how to recognize signs of illness and disease in a variety of animals from common pets to exotic species.
