Every semester full-time and associate faculty in NTCC’s Division of Humanities and Social Sciences can select an outstanding student, who is exceptional in some way. This semester, Government Professor Rex Allen nominated Sarah Ann Beatriz Worthen.

Professor Allen explained that “She is a very motivated individual that participates in a very positive manner in our class.  Her desire to do well in the class is shown by her preparation and discussion on all the political issues.  She is most deserving to be recognized for this award.”

NTCC EatBetter4Less Ambassadors planted an apricot tree Thursday in front of the Instructional Annex (IA) building. The tree is in honor of Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC President, in appreciation for the recent piano concert he performed to raise money for NTCC's Eagle Pantry. They chose to plant an apricot tree because it is self-pollinating and will provide fruit to help support the food pantry for many years to come. Northeast Texas Community College Baseball and the Panola Ponies finally met up on Sunday for game one of the three game series after a few days of rainouts. NTCC took down the Ponies 15-7 in a run ruled shortened game.

The NTCC Agriculture and Continuing Education departments are pleased to offer a Summertime On The Farm camp for kids ages 8-14. Campers will learn how to care for chickens, goats, pigs, ducks, and more. Gardening, planting, and caring for flower beds will also be covered. Join us this summer as we learn how to "do life" on a real working farm!

Don’t forget to save the date for the upcoming Career and Training Expo on Friday, April 23 at the Industrial Technology Training Center (westbound I-30 service road in Mount Pleasant before Lowes). The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $20,000 gift from the East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF). The funds were made available to the College by the ETCF through a planned gift from the estate of the late Burt and Nancy Marans, formerly of Pittsburg. This donation will contribute to the new Shelby Restoration Center that will soon be built on the NTCC campus.
