The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation held its annual Golf Classic on October 17th at Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg. The tournament raised over $10,000 to support the NTCC Work4College Program.
Northeast Texas Community College hosted its annual college fair on Thursday, Oct. 20th in the Student Union Building. The event brought representatives from more than 20 universities to campus to meet with prospective transfer students.
Northeast Texas Community College student, Ian Griffin, held a signing for his debut novel Birth of A Spy Couple on Thursday, Oct. 20 in the Student Union Building. Griffin served in the United States Army for 31 years. During this time, he lived in Germany for nine years. Living in Germany gave him a unique perspective of Germany and its culture. He has incorporated his experiences and observations into spinning a yarn that encompasses the characters of Rick and Katja.

The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region will have the third rodeo of the 2022-2023 season in Mount Pleasant, Texas October 21st and 22nd. Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) will be the host of the Rodeo held at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Arena located on Greenhill Road in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
The Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (MPEDC) recently presented Northeast Texas Community College with a check for $25,000. This is a repeated initiative between MPEDC and NTCC. The funds, like before, are being used to provide scholarships to assist residents of Mount Pleasant and Titus County with tuition for NTCC’s Professional Driving Academy. Beginning Fall 2020 due to recent strategies to include ag classes as science options in core, developing a new method of delivering dual credit courses in our cooperating ISD’s and improving and expanding our on-line offerings- as COVID hit, the Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture department doubled enrollment. Following this substantial increase, every semester showed double digit growth!
The Northeast Texas Community College Vocational Nursing (VN) program recently learned that 100% of its graduates from August 2022 passed their NCLEX-PN examinations. This marks the second year in a row that the VN program has had a 100% pass rate.
“Our faculty and students gave it everything they had last year and that hard work has paid off. We are so proud of our graduates and wish them the very best in their careers as Vocational Nurses,” Carie Overstreet, Instructor of Nursing, CAN and PCT, said.
There is still time to register for the fall 2nd 8-week term at NTCC! Classes start Monday, Oct. 17th. Most current students should be able to register online in the myeagle portal. New students and those who cannot register online should e-mail advising@ntcc.edu or stop by the Student Services Building first thing Monday morning.
Northeast Texas Community College’s own Dr. Andrew Daniel will be joined by two members of his family for an instrumental trio performance on Sunday, Oct. 23rd at 2:30 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Daniel, NTCC Professor of Music, will play guitar while his son, André Daniel, performs the violin, and his mother, Sherry Daniel, accompanies on piano.
