Texas Pioneer Foundation gives $35,000 to NTCC Work Scholarship Program

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $35,000 gift from the Texas Pioneer Foundation. The funds will be used to support the NTCC Work Scholarship Program. The Texas Pioneer Foundation is a private foundation that supports programs that will improve the quality and results of education for all Texas students.

Helen Hampton sponsors The Hunts concert

Helen Hampton recently gave $3,000 to sponsor the upcoming performance of The Hunts at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Hampton (second from left) is pictured presenting the check to Dr. Jonathan McCullough (left), NTCC Vice President for Advancement, Nita May, NTCC Director of Development, and Carolyn Franks, Whatley Center Director. The Hunts will perform on the Whatley Stage November 12 at 7:30 p.m. The family of seven brothers and sisters combine their vocal and instrumental talents to create a fresh, distinctive indie folk sound.

Donation supports NTCC scholarship for caregivers

The Winnsboro Community Foundation recently gave $2,000 for the Band of Angels Memorial Scholarship for Caregiving at Northeast Texas Community College. The scholarship, which was created in memory of Bobbie Craddock, will support nontraditional students training in healthcare-related fields. Sue Hamm, Craddock?s daughter, got the idea for the scholarship during the last months of her mother?s life as she saw the tireless, selfless work of the caregivers who took care of Mrs. Craddock.

The 20th Century Study Club of Pittsburg recently gave $1,000 to help sponsor a student in the Northeast Texas Community College Work Scholarship Program. Glenn and Judy Weiss give matched gift for NTCC Morris County scholarships

Glenn and Judy Weiss of Daingerfield recently gave $750 to fund scholarships for Morris County students at Northeast Texas Community College. The gift was matched by the Chevron Corporation, the company Glenn retired from, to make a total scholarship of $1,500. Judy and Glenn (right) are pictured presenting the gift to Dr. Jonathan McCullough (left), NTCC Vice President for Advancement and Nita May, NTCC Director of Development. There are many companies that have programs for matching charitable giving by employees and retirees.

Carol Hodges supports NTCC Work Scholarship Program

Carol Hodges, owner of The Design Factory in Hughes Springs, recently gave a $500 gift to the Northeast Texas Community College Work Scholarship Program in memory of her late husband Bruce Hodges.

The Work Scholarship Program wrapped up its third summer this week, with around 40 students participating. The program gives hard-working students the opportunity to earn money to pay for their education at NTCC.

The Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Auxiliary recently presented the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation with $4,500, which will provide six $750 scholarships to benefit students at NTCC majoring in a health sciences field.
