The Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education Program honored five deserving General Equivalency Diploma (GED) students during its recent GED Graduation ceremony by inducting them into the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS). Those inducted were: (from left): Conner Mitleff of Mt. Pleasant, Chloe McGee of Talco, Theresa Kitchens of Mount Pleasant, Silvia Villa Garcia of Winfield and Tia Dailey of Hughes Springs.
Conner Mitleff of Mount Pleasant was recently presented with the J. Travis Jackson GED Scholarship during the 2021 GED graduation ceremony hosted by the Northeast Texas Community College Adult Education Program. This $500 award is given by the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club in memory of Jackson, who was a long time adult educator in Titus County. "Alice In Wonderland" - The Mini Musical is just one of many great classes being offered this year.
There is still time to register your kids for upcoming summer activities through NTCC's Continuing Education Department. Registration for Summertime On The Farm with the NTCC Ag Program closes June 4. The program begins June 14.
On May 5, 2021 Northeast Texas Community College EMS, Nursing, and PTA students participated in an interprofessional collaboration experience. The Health Science students are developing communication skills preparing them to be able to collaborate accurately and adequately about patient care.
The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department recently named James Buckley as the Outstanding Art Student for spring 2021. Buckley resides in Winnsboro and also served as SGA president for the academic year.
“It is an honor to be selected as the outstanding art student. I have achieved more than I ever thought possible. My instructors drove the art students to stretch ourselves and use our right brain to set lofty goals and attain them,” Buckley said.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host a performance by award-winning singer-songwriters Lynn Adler and Lindy Hearne on June 6 at 2:30 p.m.
Northeast Texas Community College celebrated Spring 2021 commencement on Saturday, May 15. Two ceremonies were held at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts honoring a total of 291 students who earned a combined 345 degrees/certificates. Both ceremonies were streamed live on YouTube and Facebook.
