The Northeast Texas Community College Nursing Program will begin accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year on Friday, Nov. 18th. Applications for the Associate Traditional Nursing (RN), Vocational Nursing (VN) and VN/Paramedic Transition to RN programs all open at the same time.

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo Team headed South November 10th-12th for the Sam Houston State University Rodeo. This was the fifth and final Rodeo of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Southern Region Fall season.

Every year since 2008, NTCC Presidential Scholars have qualified to present work at the annual conference of the oldest intervarsity honors organization in the United States, the National Collegiate Honors Council.  This year five sophomores presented alongside a cast comprised overwhelmingly of university upperclassmen from New York City to San Francisco.

The Northeast Texas Community College Professional Driving Academy continues to grow and supply high-demand CDL drivers to the local area. Four new students recently graduated from the program. Registration is officially underway for the Spring 2023 semester. Spring classes will begin on January 17th. Students are encouraged to sign up for classes early so they can get the classes they need in their desired format/time.

As part of our efforts to make NTCC a safer place, we will conduct a campus-wide tornado drill on Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 8:15 a.m. At that time, the campus audible warning system will announce the drill.

The NTCC Ag Club will host the first ever Conroy Tractor “Tractor Tech Invitational” Contest on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the NTCC Ag complex and farm.

Quilts by local quilters will hang in the Whatley Center foyer in what is now an annual tradition for the NTCC art department.  For the sixth year, quilters will bring their treasured art to share with the community. The exhibit will run from Friday, Nov. 11th through Wednesday, Nov. 20th.  A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer, and refreshments will be served.

The CARE Center and Student Success will host a week-long national celebration for First Generation Students November 7th-10th. A First-Generation student is an individual whose parents did not complete a 4-year college degree. Many NTCC students are the first in their family to attend college and this is a special week to support and celebrate them!

Northeast Texas Community College held its 34th annual Scare Affair Halloween event on Monday, Oct. 31st. The event was originally scheduled for the previous Saturday, but was moved due to weather concerns. Scare Affair is the college's top fundraising event of the year for student organizations. More than $7,500 was raised by 14 student clubs.
