Maybe a colleague took time out of their day to resolve a problem or provided extra assistance to help a student succeed. The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department recently named James Buckley as the Outstanding Art Student for spring 2021. Buckley resides in Winnsboro and also served as SGA president for the academic year.

Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, hosted a District III meeting in the Community Room on campus May 1. Representatives from colleges in the district, including Tyler Junior College, Paris Junior College, Kilgore College, McClennan Community College, Trinity Valley Community College, and others, attended the event in-person or via zoom.

business club presents scholarship to president

The NTCC Business Club worked tirelessly over the fall and spring semesters to raise funds to support the needs of college students and others in the surrounding community. As a result of those efforts, the club recently made donations to three great causes.

The Northeast Texas Community College Baseball team hit the road Thursday for a single game against the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers to open the three-game series. BPCC would defeat the Eagles 5-2 to earn the opening game win.

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host a concert by Deb Porter and Friends on Sunday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. Seating is limited due to social distancing protocols.

Jalyn English, a Presidential scholar at Northeast Texas Community College, has been named a 2021 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
