Technical Theatre Coordinator

Minimum Salary: $21/hr, 30 hours per week
Description of Job Duties:
  • Responsible for all technical needs of the Theatre Department, including but not limited to designing and implementing all sets, lights, and sound for Theatre Northeast productions. 
  • Work with Theatre Director on costumes and makeup for Theatre Northeast productions.
  • Teach Stagecraft 1 every fall. The Stagecraft class is expected to assist in building sets, hanging lights, lead students in production workdays, and assist with technical needs of productions. 
  • Teach Stagecraft 2 every spring, provided there are a minimum of 10 students enrolled.
  • Responsible for coordinating STRIKE for each Theatre Northeast production. 
  • Responsible for Work4College students who wish to work in the theatre during the summer. 
  • Work with Whatley Director to coordinate main stage and Black Box space usage. 
  • Maintain in working order and secure stage, lighting, sound and tool inventory.
  • Schedule any additional housekeeping that may be required.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment.
  • Secure and supervise and train, if necessary, all stage labor for Theatre Northeast productions. 
  • Work 30 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and dependent upon production needs. 
  • Coordinate UIL One-Act Play space rentals with Whatley Director. 
  • Be present during UIL events in the Whatley and recruit and lead NTCC student volunteers.
  • Assist Theatre Director in recruiting students for the NTCC Theatre Program.
  • Coordinate with high school theatre directors by inviting schools to attend Theatre Northeast’s special high school matinees for each production. 
  • Attend NTCC Staff meetings as required by the college.
  • Assist Theatre Director with all other needs of the department.

NOTE:  Stagecraft 1 and Stagecraft 2 courses are paid in addition to the annual salary. 

Experience and Other Qualifications Required:

Technical Training in Technical Theatre (sets, lights, costumes, props) required

Bachelor's Degree in Theatre preferred
