Under general supervision of the Director of Plant Services, the Maintenance/Repair employee is responsible for assistance in maintaining the college physical plant.
Description of Job Duties:
- Works with various kind of electrical and plumbing equipment common to the electrical and plumbing trades.
- Repairs and maintains various types of existing electrical and plumbing installations.
- Installs new wiring and components requiring electrical hook up. Alters or modifies components requiring electrical power.
- Installs new plumbing and plumbing fixtures as required.
- Assists in room setup for special college events.
- Moves office and classroom furniture as needed.
- Assists the Crafts Technician on projects where assistance is required.
- Assists the grounds department when needed.
- Assists in keeping shop and work area clean.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Other Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- One year experience in construction or maintenance trades required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must be familiar with, and experienced in the use of tools common to the electrical and plumbing trades.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Total understanding of electrical theory.
Familiar with and understanding of high voltage, commercial applications.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be extremely alert to sights and sounds
