Two Presidential Scholars win $100 Eckman Awards

The NTCC Career and Transfer Team will host a FAFSA Day event on Tuesday, June 21. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in BT 111. Staff will be available to assist students with completing their FAFSA application, so please bring parent(s) and student 2020 W2s and tax returns. Northeast Texas Community College is currently enrolling for its upcoming Professional Driving Academy (CDL training). The class meets June 27th through July 25th from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the NTCC campus. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in training for a lucrative new career in just one month.
NTCC’s Pride Flock student organization hosted a Pride Celebration on June 9th in the Humanities building. The event included Pride crafts, water balloons and a featured showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The mission of Pride Flock is to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ students and allies, and to promote awareness and education of LGBTQ+ history and current issues.
Have you ever heard of GlideApps.com? NTCC’s own Kaymon Farmer, Director of Student Development and Inclusion, is planning an exciting class to teach students how to use Glide Apps software to build stunning web apps without using complicated coding.
For the 9th consecutive year, NTCC is hosting the summer Work4College program. Over 10-weeks, students in the program have the opportunity to work in 27 different areas across 5 different campuses to earn income for their future NTCC education.

Brenda Godoy, a Presidential Scholar at NTCC from 2016 to 2018, has just won her second $150,000 Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship, this one for graduate school. The former Titus County Community Health Worker (CHW), and Mount Pleasant High School salutatorian will attend Medical School, in Fort Worth this fall.
Yadira Muñoz, Admissions Counselor for Texas A&M University-Commerce, is coming to NTCC on Tuesday, June 14. She will be in the Career and Transfer Center in BT 111 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Muñoz will assist students with their applications and answer questions about transferring to A&M-Commerce.

Northeast Texas Community College Athletics partnered with the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association to provide Sports Medicine Coverage for the 58th Annual MPRA Rodeo held June 1-4, 2022 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
The Northeast Texas Community College library was one of 77 libraries nationwide to be awarded an emergency relief grant from The American Library Association (ALA). The fund is providing $1.55 million in emergency relief grants to libraries that have experienced substantial economic hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic. Through the ALA COVID Library Relief Fund, NTCC will be awarded $20,000 to support library services and operations.
