Skylar Reese Fondren, the Texas Heritage National Bank Scholar of NTCC, has just won the student election of the Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC). She will be the one student from eighty honors programs and colleges, from Nebraska to Texas, to join the other professorial members of the GPHC Executive Council.

Honors Northeast, the Northeast Texas Community College Honors Program, is pleased to announce its Honors Students for the 2022-2023 school year. This includes seven Presidential Scholars and 18 Honors Scholars.

On Sunday, 7 August at 3 p.m., Samuel Anderson Pollan will feature works of Johann Sebastian Bach, and other classics of the literature for pipe organ at the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg. The church is located at 109 College Street. The public is invited, and admission is free. Refreshments will be served after the recital.

She is already studying for the fall semester. Her professor has approved her upcoming topic in Texas history. This Friday, she plans to attend a dinner for those students in Honors Northeastinterested in being a part of this year’s film on Texas Suffragette, Minnie Fisher Cunningham.
