The Euterpean Club of Mount Pleasant recently presented a gift to the Northeast Texas Community College Campaign for the Whatley. The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $50,000 check from the Burt and Nancy Marans Estate. This gift will contribute to The Campaign for the Whatley. It will be used to help fund the renovation of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at NTCC. Northeast Texas Community College recently received a JET (Job and Education for Texans) 5 grant from the Texas State Comptroller's Office for $202,785. These funds will††will allow NTCC to purchase software for its†health programs, computers for each of its 12 dental hygiene operatories, new digital x-ray equipment, electronic dental record software, intraoral cameras and a panoramic digital x-ray system†. Pat Wommack of Lone Star recently gave $1,000 to benefit the Northeast Texas Community College†Campaign for the Whatley. This gift was made in honor of Mrs. Wommack's daughter-in-law, Kim Wommack, who is a Professor of Art and Division Director for Creative and Performing Arts at NTCC. The goal for the campaign is to raise $750,000 over the next three years to help update the aging performing arts facility.
