SMART Girls Conference planned

Communities In Schools of Northeast Texas will host the annual SMART Girls Conference on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at Northeast Texas Community College. SMART Girls (Science, Math And Related Technology) provides girls between the ages of 11 and 15 access to dynamic women in SMART careers.

The keynote speaker will be Leslie Denman. She loves to motivate and empower women and girls. Denman openly shares her struggles, victories and faith with young girls to inspire them to Dream Big! She is a mentor to young people and an encourager to women.

International Sulphur gives NTCC transfer scholarships

20th Century Study Club gives NTCC scholarship

Former Eagle named VBL D-Bat Player of the Week

Former NTCC Eagle Baseball player Matt Durst is having a great summer in the Valley Baseball League. Playing for the Charles Town Cannons, Durst was named D-Bat Player of the Week on Monday, June 17. According to a VBL press release,†Durst played in six games that week and recorded at least one hit in five of them. He finished the week batting .409 (9-for-22) with two double, a triple and a home run.

NTCC closed July 4

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Offices will resume regular business hours on Friday, July 5, which are from 8 a.m. to noon. In case of an emergency on campus during the closure, please contact security at 903-563-1417.
