Evening police academy holds commencement ceremony

The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department recently held a commencement ceremony for graduates of the Summer 2016 Police Academy. Graduates included:

NTCC is also accepting applications for its next evening academy, which begins March 13. Classes meet Monday-Thursday from 5-10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Welcome Back Social planned for Jan. 18

The first week of classes can be a stressful time in the life of a college student. To help alleviate this stress, and to encourage students to meet new people, we have planned a Welcome Back Social for students, faculty and staff. Foundation accepting applications for transfer scholarship

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is now accepting applications for the International Sulphur Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship fund provides five awards of $1,000 each for NTCC students transferring to a four-year university. Those†who meet the criteria below should plan to apply by April 14 in order to be considered for this scholarship:

  • Are you a Camp, Morris, or Titus County resident?

  • Do you have a minimum GPA of 3.0

NTCC closed Dec. 19-30 for winter break

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed Dec. 19-30 for winter break. Offices will resume regular business hours Monday, Jan. 2. Spring classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 17. Returning students may register for classes online during the break in their myEagle Portal account. New students can apply for admission and financial aid online.

NTCC winter commencement Dec. 9

Northeast Texas Community College will host its winter commencement ceremony Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Graduates should plan to arrive no later than†6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building. Free graduations portraits will be taken in the SUB beginning at 6 p.m.

Diploma pick-up for graduates†who filed prior to the October 13th†deadline will be in the back hall of the Whatley Center after the ceremony ends.

Christmas with the Nelsons comes to Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will present Christmas with the Nelsons Monday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, twin sons of Ricky Nelson, Christmas with the Nelsons tells the story of three family Christmases in the lives of America?s Favorite Family- The Nelsons.

?It has become tradition to have a holiday show at the Whatley Center and we are very pleased to bring you Christmas with the Nelsons.
