The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will open its 2026-2027 season with a homegrown performance featuring Chris Weisinger & Brand New Start on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2:30 p.m.
The concert is part of the Whatley Center’s “Sounds of Northeast” series, which showcases talented performers from Northeast Texas. Weisinger, who also serves as a police officer with the NTCC Police Department, will be joined by other area musicians for an afternoon of Christian country music with a bluegrass edge. The program will feature a strong emphasis on praise and worship music.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing this music with our community,” Weisinger said. “We’re putting together a show that has a lot of heart, with plenty of praise and worship along with the country and bluegrass sound we love. I hope people will come ready to enjoy some great music and leave feeling encouraged.”
The performance marks the first show of the Whatley Center’s new season, which will feature a variety of concerts and special events throughout the year.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets may be purchased through WhatleyCenter.com or by calling the Whatley Center box office at 903-434-8181.
