Two family-friendly shows coming to the Whatley Center

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host two exciting live performances in early February, offering entertainment for audiences of all ages.

First up is Bill Blagg’s Family Magic on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 2:30 p.m. Blagg is a nationally touring magician known for combining mind-blowing illusions, comedy and audience participation into an interactive experience designed especially for families. The high-energy show invites kids and adults alike to become part of the magic.

“This is a fun, engaging show that families can enjoy together,” said Carolyn Franks, director of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. “It’s fast-paced, interactive and guaranteed to leave audiences smiling.”

Just days later, the Whatley Center will welcome The Doo Wop Project (sponsored by Drs. Mary White and Brad Scharf) on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. The Broadway-based group will perform its new show, Echoes of the Street, celebrating classic Doo Wop hits alongside creative, Doo Wop–style versions of modern songs by artists such as Taylor Swift, Daft Punk and Chris Stapleton.

“The Doo Wop Project delivers an incredible mix of nostalgia and fresh energy,” Franks said. “It’s a fantastic concert experience that appeals to multiple generations.”

Tickets for Family Magic are $25 for adults and $5 for students and children. Tickets for The Doo Wop Project are $35 for adults and $10 for students.
