Looking to earn your GED or improve your English skills? Northeast Texas Community College's Adult Education program is now enrolling students for free six-week GED and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes beginning July 14. Registration is by appointment only July 6-13 at the Community Resource Center (Old Mount Pleasant High School), located at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.

The accelerated GED NOW program prepares students in language arts, math, science, and social studies while also providing test-taking strategies, college transition assistance, and employability skills. Free GED practice tests and exam vouchers are available for qualifying participants. Students may choose between in-person classes in Pittsburg or virtual evening classes.

The free ESL program helps adults build confidence in speaking, writing, listening, and understanding English while also learning basic computer skills. Classes are offered in person at the Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Participants must be at least 17 years old and meet enrollment requirements. To schedule a registration appointment or learn more about either program, call 903-434-8341.
