The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles kept their postseason hopes alive Saturday afternoon with an impressive 11-1 run-rule victory over Alvin College in six innings during Game 3 of the Region XIV North Tournament at Eagle Field.

Facing elimination after an 11-2 loss to Navarro College on Friday night, the Eagles responded in a big way with an explosive offensive performance, collecting 11 hits and scoring in five of six innings.

NTCC jumped out early with four runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. The Eagles added another run in the third before erupting for five runs in the fourth inning to build a commanding 10-1 advantage.

Boston Seahorn paced the offense by going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. BJ Lumkins also finished 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Cameron Reiter added a home run, two hits, and two RBI.

Jonathon Kent delivered a key triple and drove in three runs for the Eagles. Josh Staten added two RBI, and Riley Patterson reached base four times with three walks and scored twice.

Tanner Webb turned in a strong outing on the mound, helping hold Alvin to just four hits and one run over six innings. The Eagles also played solid defense behind him.

With the win, NTCC advanced to another elimination game against Navarro College Saturday evening. Navarro remains undefeated in the tournament, meaning the Eagles must beat the Bulldogs Saturday night and again Sunday to claim the Region XIV North Tournament championship.
