Dr. Doug and Kathy Richey recently pledged $5,400 to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation as part of the college’s “$40 for 40 Years” campaign celebrating NTCC’s 40th anniversary.
The gift will provide emergency scholarships for students facing unexpected financial hardships that could otherwise prevent them from continuing their education. The Richeys are pictured at the check presentation with Nita May, Director of Development, and Dr. Jon McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Doug and Kathy Richey and their longtime commitment to NTCC,” McCullough said. “As a founding faculty member who has been part of the college since the very beginning, Doug has helped shape the lives of countless students over the past 40 years. Their support of this campaign is another example of their dedication to helping future generations succeed.”
The NTCC Foundation’s “$40 for 40 Years” campaign invites supporters to make a gift in honor of the college’s 40th anniversary. Individuals who contribute at least $40 by Aug. 31 will have their names permanently included on a commemorative donor wall outside of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
Giving levels include $40, $400, $4,000, $40,000, and $400,000. Donors may pledge over the next three years to reach a giving level, and gifts may be designated for any NTCC scholarship, program, or purpose selected by the donor.
