Dr. Doug and Kathy Richey recently made a generous $12,000 contribution to the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation through East Texas Giving Day to support student scholarships and faculty development at Northeast Texas Community College.

The gift will benefit four Richey perpetual family scholarships, as well as the Faculty Enhancement Fund, which provides support for professional development opportunities for NTCC faculty.

Dr. Richey holds a special place in NTCC history as one of the college’s original faculty members when the institution opened its doors in 1985. As a longtime professor of mathematics, he has impacted the lives of thousands of students over the past four decades through his dedication to teaching and student success.

“Doug Richey has been part of NTCC since the very beginning, and generations of students have benefited from his dedication to teaching and learning,” said Dr. Jon McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement. “Doug and Kathy’s generosity is another example of their commitment to supporting students, faculty, and the mission of the college.”

The NTCC Foundation’s East Texas Giving Day efforts are part of the college’s ongoing $40 for 40 Years campaign, which celebrates NTCC’s 40th anniversary. Individuals who contribute at least $40 to the campaign will have their names permanently included on a commemorative plaque honoring the college’s legacy of service and support.
