Doo wop project

America’s premiere Doo Wop group, The Doo Wop Project, will bring its brand-new show, Echoes of the Street, to the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is sponsored by Drs. Mary White and Brad Scharf.

Featuring Broadway performers and a high-energy live band, Echoes of the Street celebrates the timeless sound of Doo Wop while giving today’s biggest hits a retro twist. Audiences will hear classic favorites like “Blue Moon,” “Sherry” and “My Girl,” alongside Doo Wop–inspired versions of songs by artists including Taylor Swift, Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk and Chris Stapleton.

“This show is pure fun from start to finish,” said Carolyn Franks, director of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. “It’s nostalgic, it’s fresh, and it’s the kind of performance that brings generations together through music.”

Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students and are available at whatleycenter.com or by calling the box office at 903-434-8181. The performance is included in Whatley Center season ticket packages.
