The Eagles ran into a hot Navarro lineup Friday night, falling 11-2 in Game 2 of the Region XIV Tournament. Navarro collected 12 hits and used a big middle stretch to pull away despite Northeast battling throughout the night. Click here for free downloadable tournament photos.

Offensively, the Eagles were led by Josh Staten, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and both NTCC RBIs. Jonathon Kent and Cameron Reiter each added hits, while the pitching staff worked through a patient Navarro offense that drew nine walks.

Now the focus shifts to Saturday.

NTCC will face Alvin at 2 p.m. in an elimination game, with the winner advancing to face Navarro at 6 p.m. Saturday. Depending on the outcome of the late Saturday matchup, the tournament championship could either be decided Saturday evening or pushed to a winner-take-all final on Sunday.
