After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School, Marifer Zuniga chose to continue her education at Northeast Texas Community College, where she earned her Associate of Science in Business Administration in the spring of 2019. While pursuing her degree, Marifer made the decision to begin her professional career early in order to help support her family.
Balancing work, education, and personal responsibilities taught her the value of hard work, perseverance, and servant leadership. Along the way, she was blessed to be mentored by several respected business and community leaders who invested in her growth, encouraged her potential, and helped her gain a deeper understanding of the business community and the importance of building strong relationships.
Those experiences ultimately led Marifer to discover a passion for community development, event management, and supporting local businesses. Today, she serves as the Event Director for the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, where she coordinates large-scale events that promote tourism, strengthen community engagement, and contribute to local economic growth.
Beyond her professional role, Marifer actively volunteers and supports events hosted by numerous local organizations, nonprofits, schools, and community groups. She is also a dedicated member of the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club, where she serves as the Media Chair and Bulletin Creator, helping share the club’s impact and keep members informed.
Marifer remains committed to lifelong learning and hopes to continue her education to further grow in her career while helping small businesses thrive and creating opportunities for others to succeed. Her story reflects the power of mentorship, service, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the community she proudly calls home.
