Northeast Texas Community College kicked off Independence Day a little early with a fun and festive picnic on Thursday, July 3rd at the Eagle’s Nest outside the Student Union Building. The event drew a great crowd of students, faculty, staff, and guests from the Ignite Youth Club in Mount Pleasant, all ready to celebrate in their patriotic gear.
Everyone enjoyed a classic summer cookout with free hot dogs, burgers, chips, and ice cream. More than just good food, the gathering was a way for the NTCC community to come together and honor veterans, active service members, and their families.
“This event is all about showing our appreciation for the sacrifices made by service members and their loved ones, and celebrating the freedom we enjoy as a community,” said JaQuacy Minter, Director of Student Development, who led the event. “It’s wonderful to see everyone come together and connect in such a meaningful way.”
A big thank-you goes out to the Student Development and Student Services teams for all their hard work putting the event together and making it such a success. It was a perfect way for the NTCC family to celebrate freedom, community, and the people who make it all possible.
