The Level IV Nursing students at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) are proud to announce an important community project to raise awareness about breast health and breast cancer prevention. The event will take place in the Student Union Building (SUB) on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
This initiative is focused on providing young adults with vital information about self-breast examinations (SBEs) and their role in the early detection of breast cancer. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn practical techniques for conducting self-exams and receive educational resources to promote long-term breast health.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Early detection through regular self-examinations and screenings significantly increases the chances of successful treatment, with survival rates exceeding 90% when caught early.
All NTCC students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend this informative event. Together, we can create a campus culture that prioritizes health and wellness!
