Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation has a new endowed scholarship. NTCC recently received a gift of $25,500 to establish the new Charles L. and M. Hazel Black Scholarship. The scholarship is open to students with financial need. Pictured receiving the donation is (from left) Dr. Jon McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement and McKenna Neal, Resource Development Specialist.

The first scholarship of $500 will be awarded to a student for the 2025-2026 academic year and $25,000 will be endowed to provide future scholarships. Thanks to an additional grant, the donation will be matched for a total impact of $50,500.

“We are very grateful for this new scholarship that will continue to provide support for students for many years to come. Education is very important to the Black family and this scholarship aims to help students in financial need obtain their educational goals,” Nita May, NTCC Director of Development, said.
