The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $10,000 gift from Brandi Cave, NTCC Vice President for Administrative Services, to establish a new perpetual scholarship. The Coffey Family Scholarship honors the Coffey family and preserves the memory of James and Senia Coffey, David L. and Brenda Coffey, and David J. Coffey.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior from Paul H. Pewitt High School who plans to attend NTCC. The Coffey family has a long and meaningful connection to the school, with four generations of family members attending Paul H. Pewitt.
Cave said the scholarship reflects values instilled in her from an early age.
“My grandpa impressed upon me the importance and value of education,” Cave said. “It is important to me to leave a legacy so future generations of our family understand this, and so they see the impact that investing in other people can make. I’m grateful for the opportunity to honor my family in a way that will help students for years to come.”
The NTCC Foundation will begin awarding the Coffey Family Scholarship during the upcoming academic year. To learn more about how you can honor your family legacy through scholarships, visit www.ntcc.edu/give or contact May at 903-434-8113 or nmay@ntcc.edu.
