The NTCC Board of Trustees met for its regular December meeting on Tuesday, December 16. The meeting opened with the presentation of the College’s 2024–2025 Independent Audit conducted by Carr, Riggs & Ingram. The auditors issued the annual financial report with no findings and reported that NTCC remains in a strong financial position, with a year-over-year increase in net position.
President’s Report Highlights
NTCC President Dr. Kevin Rose began his report on a somber note, as he requested a moment of silence to honor the memory of two former NTCC Board members: John Bryan (1996-2016), who passed away November 26 and Gov. Bill Ratliff (2012-2018), who passed away December 8. He then shared the following updates:
Highlights from the 2025 NTCC Christmas Party and Employee Awards Luncheon:
- Held December 5 with approximately 200 employees in attendance
- Recognition of 20 employees representing a combined 310 years of service
- Honors for employees with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, and 40 years of service
- Recognition of four retirees: Shemetric Williams (31 years), Sally Knight (28 years), Russell Taylor (23 years), and Tim Wilson (15 years)
- The Foundation reported $112,207.13 in donations for the month of November.
Strong enrollment and graduation outcomes:
- Fall 2025 enrollment increased 11.3 percent to 3,535 students, up 359 from Fall 2024
- The December 2025 graduating class was the largest December graduating class in NTCC history; the previous high was 167 graduates in 2017
- The largest overall graduating semester on record was Spring 2024 with 438 graduates
Action Items Approved
- Trustees approved the following items during the meeting:
- Approval of the consent agenda, including: Minutes from the previous Board meeting, the monthly finance report, and local district update 50 affecting local policies
- Development of a Level 1 Certificate in Industrial Technology – Air Conditioning (AC) Technician
Personnel Action
Trustees approved the following personnel-related items:
- Employment of Anthony Gil as a new faculty member in the Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute
- Release of a College Liaison from their employment contract
- Release of the Adult Education TEAMS Education Coordinator from their employment contract
- Release of the Director of the Small Business Development Center from their employment contract
The meeting concluded with an executive session held in accordance with Texas Government Code provisions.
