Dr. Dominique Spigner’s journey into social work was unexpected—it found her. During a difficult day at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC), she noticed a sign asking, “Do you like helping people?” Each question resonated with her, leading her to enroll in NTCC’s social work program. That moment changed her life forever.
Believing that everything happens for a reason, Dr. Spigner credits NTCC for laying the foundation for her passion for advocacy and social change. The program’s student-centered approach and dedicated mentors shaped her path and fueled her lifelong commitment to learning and serving others.
After NTCC, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M - Commerce, a master’s from Stephen F. Austin State University, and in 2018, a Doctorate in Social Work from Walden University. Today, she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Supervisor (LCSW-S), professor, public speaker, and entrepreneur. As the owner of Dominique Spigner, LLC, she empowers others to break barriers and pursue their dreams
Dr. Spigner’s story is one of resilience, faith, and purpose. If her journey inspires even one person to step into their calling, then every challenge she faced was worth it.
