The Theatre Program at Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to announce that it will host a production of Wait Until Dark (by Frederick Knott) November 14-16 at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. nightly, with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Nov. 16th. The show will be held in the on-stage black box theater, which will provide the audience with an intimate and memorable experience close to the action. Because of the unique stage configuration, seating is very limited and advance tickets are highly recommended.
"This will be the first time we've hosted a black box performance for quite some time and we are really looking forward to it. We have some very talented actors and I have no doubt they are going to put on a fantastic and memorable show," Dr. Page Petrucka, Director, said.
Wait Until Dark was first performed on Broadway in 1966. In this thriller, a doll filled with heroin ends up in the apartment of a blind woman, who is terrorized by criminals looking for the doll until she figures out how to fight back. The production contains adult themes and may not be suitable for small children.
Tickets are $15 for adults 18+, $5 for children under 17, $10 for NTCC employees, seniors and military, and free for NTCC students with ID. Tickets may be purchased online at www.whatleycenter.com or by calling the box office at 903-434-8181.
