Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to announce a new Logistics micro credential training program that begins March 21. The 8-week, nine credit hour program is designed to provide students with an introduction to the high-demand field of logistics.

Courses included in the program are: Introduction to Business Logistics, Introduction to Materials Handling, and Warehouse and Distribution Center Management.

“Our region has many manufacturing and distribution companies that rely on logistics to operate. This is a great opportunity for those who may be in entry level positions who would like to move up or others who would like to expand their knowledge of how logistics keeps industry moving,” Jimmy Smith, NTCC Workforce Developer, said.

This program is available thanks to the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education (TRUE) Initiative, which aims to prepare students for in-demand careers accelerating their transition to work while also building an enduring education infrastructure to support a thriving Texas economy throughout the diverse regions of the state.

The TRUE Initiative grant will cover the entire cost for many students and other scholarships may be available.

“This is an exciting opportunity and funds are available to help students participate, but they must act now because classes begin just after spring break,” Smith said.
