On January 30, the NTCC Continuing Education and Corporate Training group partnered with the Boy Scouts of America-Circle Ten Council to host their annual Merit Badge University here on campus. The objective of the university is to give scouts the opportunity to participate in counselor lead courses to meet requirements listed in the Scouts BSA Requirements book to be eligible for emblems after course completion. Some of our very own instructors, Sergio Sanchez, Gary Short, Zachary Strawbridge, and Russell VanBibber, volunteered to teach courses for this year’s university. Next year’s date of January 22, 2022 has already been locked in. With over 80 scouts this year, Steven Palmer (Eastern Lakes Senior District Executive) has high hopes that the Merit Badge University in 2022 will be even bigger.
