Whatley Center to host pianist Thomas Pandolfi

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will host virtuoso pianist Thomas Pandolfi on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m.



The concert will feature a mix of classical, jazz, ragtime and Broadway music. Selections will include Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin, George Gershwin, Edward MacDowell, Scott Joplin, Leroy Anderson, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.



"This will be our second year in a row to host Thomas Pandolfi for a concert at the Whatley Center. He has a unique style and keeps his audience engaged from beginning to end. If you are a fan of piano music, you don't want to miss Thomas Pandolfi," Carolyn Franks, NTCC Director of the Whatley Center, said.



Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for students. The event is sponsored by Texas Heritage National Bank. Reservations may be made by calling the Whatley Center box office at 903-434-8181 or tickets may be purchased the evening of the concert.



Pandolfi is a graduate of The Julliard School, where he earned both bachelor's and master's degrees as a scholarship student. His†career has included performances with such European orchestras as The George†Enescu Philharmonic, The Cluj Philharmonic, The Moravian Philharmonic, The National Philharmonic†of the Republic of Moldova, and The Aberystwyth Symphony in Wales, as well as the American†symphony orchestras of Mississippi, Cedar Rapids, Asheville, Princeton, San Angelo, York, Fairfax,†Northbrook, Great Falls, and Owensboro. He has collaborated with such conductors†as Dimitru Goia, Sabin Pautza, Peter Schmelzer, Mihail Agafita, Grigori Moseico, David Russell†Hulme, and many others.
