Stephen Milburn, a Northeast Texas Community College student from Mount Pleasant, was one of six recipients of the Dr. Mary Hood STAR Scholarship.† The scholarship honors returning community college students in the Texas region who show outstanding promise as leaders and as scholars.† The recipients were announced at the recent Texas Honors Institute held at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX and recognized onstage. ††Milburn has attended regional and international events within Phi Theta Kappa, ran for International Vice-President of Division II, and currently serves as the Vice-President of Communication for the Alpha Mu Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.† In addition to being active in Phi Theta Kappa, Milburn is also a Presidential Honors Scholar at NTCC.
