Northeast Texas Community College will begin the inaugural semester of the newly formed Northeast Texas Music Academy on January 9 for grades K-6. The academy consists of 22 weeks of instruction, which includes private lessons, theory classes, ensembles and special events.

Students may receive instruction in one of the following areas: voice, piano, strings (violin, viola, cello) or guitar. Theory classes meet from 5:00-5:30 p.m. one day each week, with a choice of Monday-Wednesday. Ensembles meet Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. and private lessons include a half-hour lesson per week on either Wednesday between 4:30-:7:00 p.m. or Thursday between 4-7 p.m.

"We are very excited to offer this unique musical opportunity for students in our area. This is a chance to get intensive instruction from highly-trained experts at a very affordable cost," Andrew Daniel, NTCC Instructor of Music, said.

No experience is necessary to enroll. Tuition for the program is $600. For more information, contact Daniel at 903-434-8185 or†adaniel@ntcc.edu. Instrument locator services will be provided for all prospective students.
