Did you know that NTCC has a WorKamper program? 

It allows full-time Rv’ers to exchange work for rent. Retirees and disabled workers can share their considerable experience and talents to help NTCC on a wide variety of projects, including landscaping, painting, farming, electrical, plumbing, and computer support.

Workampers volunteer a minimum of 15 hours of work per week, but some offer more. Workampers get a free graveled parking spot with electricity, water, and sewer hookup. They also have access to laundry and gym facilities at no cost.

NTCC’s Continuing Education and Corporate Training department is pleased to announce our first Senior Adult conference for seniors 55 and up. The conference will be held on August 20th, 2021 in the Whatley Center on the NTCC campus, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.    

Northeast Texas Community College will hold its summer commencement ceremony on Friday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. While the number of guests who can attend in-person is limited due to COVID-19, the ceremony will be streamed live online on the NTCC Facebook page and on YouTube.

The Northeast Texas Community College Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams arrived back to campus to begin practice on August 10, 2021. After a crazy year of cancellations, moving the season from fall to spring, the Eagles are looking forward to playing a fall schedule again.

NTCC is pleased to announce that Jimmy Smith & Kenzie Beasley have been nominated for this week’s Summer Shout Out. Jimmy and Kenzie both work on the Continuing Education & Corporate Training team. They both go above and beyond to keep the department running smoothly & to help provide educational opportunities to everyone in our community.

NTCC is pleased to announce that Fredia Thomas has been nominated for this week’s Summer Shout Out. Fredia is the Director of Adult Education. She has dedicated many years furthering the cause of adult literacy and helping countless individuals achieve their GED and to learn English as a Second Language.

The Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (MPEDC) recently presented Northeast Texas Community College with a check for $25,000. The funds are being used to provide scholarships to assist residents of Mount Pleasant and Titus County with tuition for NTCC’s Professional Driving Academy. Aaliyah Avellaneda and Maxime Risner, two members of Alpha Mu Chi, NTCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, were among 13 recipients of prestigious Texas regional scholarships given out the weekend of the Texas Honors Institute. The Dr. Mary Hood Texas STAR Scholarships are available to members of Phi Theta Kappa throughout the state of Texas.  Both students will receive $250 STAR Scholarships

The winners of the 2021 McGraw Hill Poster Contest at the Whatley Foyer in May received a free trip, ticket and lunch, 29 July, to the Texas Shakespeare Festival in Kilgore, Texas.  Together with Honors Director Dr. Andrew Yox, Brian Ramirez, and Maxime Risner, saw Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor in an afternoon production.
