Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) is now enrolling students in its new GED NOW program—a free, accelerated 6-week course designed to help adult learners quickly earn their GED and transition to college or a career pathway.
The program offers both in-person and virtual options to fit a variety of schedules:
In-person classes: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 12 noon (July 8 – August 14)
Virtual classes: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. (July 29 – September 4)
Classes will be held at the Community Resource Center (Old Mt. Pleasant High School) located at 105 N. Riddle Street, Mt. Pleasant, TX.
Registration is open June 24 – July 7, 2025, by appointment only. To register, visit the Community Resource Center or call 903-434-8341.
Participants must be at least 17 years old. Instruction covers all core GED exam subjects (language arts, science, social studies, and math), along with test-taking strategies, employability skills, and account setup assistance.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to move forward in life—whether that's college, job training, or just completing something they never thought possible,” said Fredia Thomas, NTCC Director of Adult Education.
