Northeast Police Academy  

A New Generation in Law Enforcement
The Northeast Police Academy is a fully accredited academy, with accreditation through Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). The additional requirements we place on our cadets offer them skills and training not provided by other academies. The instructors of the Northeast Police Academy work hard to ensure that graduates possess the required skills, training, experience, and self-confidence to succeed in a career in law enforcement. This intensive program produces competent law enforcement candidates with highly marketable skills, knowledge, and expertise, enhancing employment opportunities and preparing graduates for all phases of their careers. Northeast Police Academy will prepare a new generation of law enforcement officers, confident in their their themselves.

Two Tracks to Meet Candidate Needs

College Credit Fast-Track Academy : This concentrated academy features highly qualified and dedicated instructors, with extensive experience in law enforcement and education. Each of our full-time instructors possesses a Masters Degree. In addition to the 643 hours required by TCOLE, Northeast Police Academy offers 104 additional hours in physical training, report writing, and computer instruction to help cadets prepare for a successful career in law enforcement. Upon completion of Northeast Police Academy, graduates will require only 12 additional courses (fewer in some cases) to achieve an Associate's Degree.

Continuing Education Academy :The Continuing Education Police Academy offered through the Northeast Police Academy is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) approved police academy. The academy is taught by persons who are experienced in their field and who recognize the importance of quality instruction.

The 643-hours hours of instruction follow the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer curriculum, which include topics such as penal code, arrest, search, and seizure, report writing, and Spanish. Upon successful completion of the Academy cadets are eligible to sit for the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Certificate.

Where is the Northeast Police Academy?
Northeast Police Academy is located on the scenic campus of Northeast Texas Community College, a relaxed environment with small and intimate classes that offer individualized instruction. The campus is located on F.M. 1735, six miles southeast of Mount Pleasant. Check out our facilities.

TCOLE Testing
The Testing Center at Northeast Texas Community College is a TCLEODS approved testing site. Various TCOLE exams, including Basic Peace Officer and County Corrections licensure exams may be taken. Contact the Northeast Testing Center for more information.

The Northeast Police Academy utilizes a variety of individuals who are highly qualified in their field. The Academy prefers to utilize instructors with experience in teaching and knowledge of the subject matter and who have obtained the TCOLE Instructor certification. most with being Master Peace Officers.
